Paulo Fonseca, who has had a successful time in Ukraine managing Shakhtar Donetsk, gave an interview to Catalan sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo (information through A Bola).
He spoke about a range of topics as his name grows around Europe for various jobs.
“He has lots of talent, he is young, and he can be a big player in the future. He needs time though. I didn’t know about him during the same time we were both at FC Porto. He could be the new Rui Costa or the new Del Piero.”
“For me, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo continue to be the best for their ongoing influence with their respective teams. Messi had a fantastic year. Ronaldo, after leaving Real Madrid, had to adapt to Italian football, which is much more tactical, and he continued to score goals. But if I have to give the Ballon d’Or to a player that is gonna be in the Champions League Final, it would be Salah.”
“My objective is to continue and win with Shakhtar, and go as far as possible in the next edition of the Champions League. In the future, I would like to manage in Spain, Italy or England, the leagues that to me are the most attractive at this moment.”
