The draw for the quarterfinal (one leg) and semifinal (two legs) rounds of the 2021-22 Taca de Portugal took place on Monday afternoon in Cidade do Futebol.
Fourth Division Leca, the lone remaining club left outside the top two divisions, will host Sporting in the next round in an appealing Davey & Goliath type match.
FC Porto will travel to Vizela, who they just defeated a short time ago in Liga play.
Rio Ave host Tondela and Portimonense host Mafra in the other quarterfinal matches.
The draw also took place for the two-leg semifinal. A potential two-leg Classico could be in the making if Sporting and FC Porto each advance in their next matches.
Defending champion SC Braga was eliminated last round by Vizela, so there will be a new champion this season.
Second Division Mafra, Rio Ave, along with Portimonense, Vizela, Tondela will seek to win this year for direct entry into next season’s Europa League group stage.
