Fernando Santos
“Obviously, the result is better than the performance. We had no intensity in the game again in the first half. The ball stopped a lot because of the pitch, the passes did not go out, but we have to adapt.”

“We didn’t have any intensity in the first half again. In the second half we entered with lots of intensity, winning the second balls, because these games are also won like this. We went 2-1 up, but then we started again at the same low pace and allowed Croatia with ten to score a goal. We ended up winning and we were the fair winners because we were better, but we have to be much better.”

Nelson Semedo:
“It was a game of second balls and duels, the first part didn’t go as we wanted and we were behind. On the restart we gave a great response and scored early. They drew level, but we managed to win, which is the most important thing. We finished the Nations League well, not as we wanted, but we gave a good response.”

“The important thing was to win, we wanted to give a good response. We responded well in the 2nd half and I think we deserved the win. We faced it with another attitude, we won our duels and we ended up having more offensive power and reaching the opponent’s goal.”

Rúben Dias
“I am obviously very happy to score my first goals for our national team and get the victory. We tried our best to adapt to the conditions and ended up with a difficult victory against a strong opposition.”
