Referee Catarina Campos will make history on Saturday when she works the middle of Saturday’s second-division match between Paços de Ferreira x Feirense.

She will become the first female to referee a professional match in Portuguese men’s football.

Campos will join Andreia Sousa and Vanessa Gomes (assistants), as well as Cristina Amaral (fourth referee) on Saturday’s arbitration team.

Campos has been an international referee since 2018 and has been in the UEFA elite category for about a year and a half.

The match will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Estádio Capital do Móvel.
