Fulham’s Hugo Oliveira is the New Manager of Famalicão

Famalicão made official on Tuesday as they announced the hiring of Hugo Oliveira as their new manager.

Prior to returning to Portugal, Hugo was the goalkeeping coach at Marco Silva’s Fulham in the Premier League.

The 45-year-old native of Fiães from the suburbs of Porto signed a contract valid until the summer of 2026.

Hugo has a long history of being responsible for training goalkeepers, having worked for clubs such as Paredes, Rebordosa, Marco, Gil Vicente, União de Leiria and Benfica.

From the 2016/2017 season onwards, he went to England, having represented Hull City, Watford, Everton and Fulham, where he was most recently on Marco Silva’s staff.

He arrives in Famalicão to replace Armando Evangelista, who, in the last round, was replaced on an interim basis by Ricardo Silva, who drew 1-1 against FC Porto.

Famalicão’s new manager will have his first challenge as manager on Monday at SC Braga.
