Lito Vidigal was announced as Boavista’s new manager. He replaces Cristiano Bacci, who left because he felt he did not have the suitable conditions to manage the club.
The new manager signed a contract until the end of the current season.
Vidigal undertakes the difficult task of trying to take his new last-place club out of the bottom at a time when they are prohibited by FIFA from registering new players due to past debt.
This is a return of Vidigal to Bessa, who already managed this club during the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons, in which Boavista finished in eighth and 12th place, respectively.
At 55 years old and after 191 matches in the Liga, Vidigal has been unemployed since June of last year, when he saved Feirense from relegation to the third tier in the play-off against Lusitânia de Lourosa.
