A New Era at the Dragão: FC Porto Hire Francesco Farioli

Francesco Farioli has been appointed as the manager of FC Porto, signing a two-year contract that runs until 2027.

The 36-year-old Italian takes over the role less than two months after leaving Ajax, where he managed for one season.

During his time at Ajax, Farioli led the team to a second-place finish in the Eredivisie, narrowly missing out on the title to PSV Eindhoven.

He replaces Martin Anselmi, who managed Porto for 21 matches, winning only 10 of them.

Anselmi’s tenure resulted in a third-place finish in the Primeira Liga and a group-stage exit in this summer’s Club World Cup.

FC Porto has not claimed the Portuguese Liga title since 2022.
